The genuine Toshiba label material is 70 metres in length is supplied on 38mm cores. The roll of linerless labels is 102mm wide and the diameter of the roll is approx 100mm.

These top-coated paper labels have a semi-gloss finish, a strong permanent adhesive and a thermal coating so they do not require any kind of ink ribbon to print them.

The coating on this label material gives better print quality and a greater resistance to UV light.  The coating also gives a very good level of protection from moisture, chemicals and scratching.  This means that the labels will be readable and scannable for a longer period of time compared to uncoated direct thermal labels.

How Linerless label Printing Works

Linerless label printing is an innovative new way of printing labels which uses the same thermal technology as conventional label printing. Linerless label printing uses a strip of label material which has a special silicon release coating that the label adhesive sticks to instead of being stuck to a silicon coated liner (backing paper).

The label material has a semi-gloss finish and has superior resistance to water, heat, chemicals, and scratches. The print quality of linerless label material is excellent and the cost of the labels are the same as comparable direct thermal labels (with a protective topcoat) with a backing paper. You can be assured that linerless labels stick every bit as well as labels on lining paper.  The adhesive has been designed to adhere to any type of packaging material.

When the label printer has printed your label, it cuts the label material and presents it to you one label at a time. As soon as you have removed the label from the printer it will print the next label. This is ideal for applications where you need to apply the label to the product at the time of printing.
