Horticultural Labels for Garden Centres and Nurseries
Many Garden Centres and Nurseries rely on us for supplying their horticultural labels and tags for labelling plant pots, trays and other items, including garden centre outdoor ornaments, etc.
We stock a large selection of plain white polypropylene labels, so there is no need to wait weeks for your order to arrive, as we do not manufacture these stock items to order. It is also possible to order small quantities of our stocked labels for trials, etc. without having to pay the manufacturer's hidden set-up cost.
These labels are great for applications where good weather resistance is needed. Using a thermal transfer label printer, you can easily print a combination of information—identification, price, contact, and marketing details—on the labels.
Pre-printed labels for garden centres and nurseries are also very popular with our customers. These are basically plain white polypropylene labels with your logo and/or address details pre-printed on them in one or more colors. You can then overprint the information you need for the specific plant or item in black using a thermal transfer label printer. This is great for brand identification and easily adds a splash of colour to your labels.
The label printer we would recommend for printing these labels would depend on the quantity of labels you will be printing. For smaller businesses where up to a few hundred labels will be printed per day, the Toshiba B-FV4T is a good choice. This printer takes small rolls of labels and prints the instructions, information, price, etc., as well as printing barcodes and simple graphics. For customers who need to print several hundred or even tens of thousands of labels per day, then the Toshiba BA420 will be our recommended option. This model takes larger rolls of labels so you do not have to change the roll so often and is capable of printing at faster speeds.
Horticultural industries use labels for a variety of purposes, including marketing, identification, and information.
- Marketing: labels are often used to help promote and market horticultural products. They can be used to highlight the features and benefits of a particular product, such as its flavor, nutritional content, or growing methods. Labels can also be used to create a brand identity for a particular grower or distributor, helping to differentiate their products from those of their competitors.
- Identification: labels are essential for identifying horticultural products. They can be used to differentiate between different varieties of plants or to distinguish between plants that have been grown using different methods or in different locations. Identification labels are particularly important for plants that are sold as cut flowers, as customers often want to know the name of the flower and where it was grown.
- Information: labels can also be used to provide important information about horticultural products. This might include information about how the product was grown (e.g. organic, conventional, etc.), instructions for care and maintenance, and information about the product's nutritional content or health benefits. Information labels can be especially important for plants that are sold for consumption, such as fruits and vegetables.
In addition to these uses, horticultural labels can also serve as a way to comply with regulatory requirements. For example, labels may be required to indicate that a particular plant or product is certified organic or to provide information about any pesticides or other chemicals that were used in the growing process.
